Holistic Creative Writing Circles
A Holistically Inspired Creative Writing Circle for Women:
We will gather and connect to enjoy coffee, tea and cake and of course companionship.
I will open our circle by reading you a poem or two that is perhaps relevant to the season, nature, women, friendship, motherhood, love and emotions etc.
Then I will guide you through some GRATITUDE Journaling.
We will set some INTENTIONS and AFFIRMATIONS. (Think of the intentions as goals or mini goals and affirmations as positive statements if you are unsure what I mean by these).
I will then provide you with some holistically inspired JOURNAL PROMPTS.

Finally there will be the time to put pen to paper once more. Here you can draft your own piece of CREATIVE WRITING such as a poem or short fiction, a book blurb or review for that novel that's in your head. However, if you find creative writing difficult ~ you could jot down a brand new wholesome recipe, a mini travelogue, a nurturing self-care practice or ritual, a letter to your younger/older self, last night's dream or whatever else lights your literary fire. If you prefer not to write, please feel free to sketch.
There will be the opportunity to chat about what you have written or drawn ~ but there is absolutely no obligation to share.
I will close our lovely session with some final poetry readings.
Please bring your own journal, pens, pencils, materials to sketch (if applicable) to each session.
My initial circles will be held in Gloucester. But I do intend to run these sessions elsewhere in Gloucestershire.
My Creative Writing Journey:
Since 2014 I have shared my short fiction and poetry on an online blog (WordPress) and X (previously Twitter). I personally find that writing in the evenings is a good way for me to unwind after a busy day.
Around the same time, I was in a pool of commentators for an online writing community for school children. They were from around the world, not just the UK, and it was the wonderful idea of a Head Teacher in the South West.
I've also attended a Creative Writing course (evening classes) held at Gloucestershire College in Cheltenham. During which we would write genres that were outside of our comfort zone, display our work on a Smart Board and read it out aloud to the other students for constructive comments.
I love to read books, hence me working directly with them several days per week.
